The Food Truck Industry is a business sector that keeps growing, and we knew there was a way for B&G Foods to tap into it. We created a promotion for just Food Truck Owners, sponsored by Weber®, Tone’s®, and Member’s Mark™ Seasonings, available exclusively at Sam’s Club. The promotion offers Food Truck businesses the opportunity to earn valuable rewards by earning points. Food Trucks earn rewards points by doing the things they do every day, like post on social media, buying food truck supplies, and participating in our daily challenges. Points earn gift cards, and at the end of the promotion, the food truck with the most points wins $5,000 cash prize, along with an award recognition banner. Then the rest of the top 10 food trucks also win a prize package valued at over $2,000 including Sam’s Club gift cards and Tone’s®, Weber®, and Member’s Mark™ spices and seasonings.
Hundreds of food trucks around the country took part in the promotion. Not only did YellowDog conceive the promotion, we communicated with our participants every day via email by offering point opportunities and updates. The promotion was also a great exercise in market research, where we conducted surveys and gained insight into Food Truck purchasing habits.
