MarChem Polyurethane Systems, a Division of Accella Performance Materials, Receives SPI Gold Safety Award for Third Consecutive Year
St. Louis, Missouri, July 23, 2015 – The Society of the Plastics Industry (SPI) recently granted Accella with the Gold Safety Award. As part of the 2014 Safety Statistics and Awards Program (SSA), this prestigious award recognizes worksites that encountered no occupational injuries or illnesses (as defined by OSHA) for the 2014 calendar year. The Gold Safety Award recognizes the highest level of safety performance that a company can achieve. Accella is honored to have won the Gold Safety Award for the past three consecutive years.
“The Gold Safety Award signifies the great strides Accella takes to ensure our workers’ safety is our first priority. We are proud to receive these top honors, and continue to reach for the highest safety standards in the industry,” Andy Harris, President and CEO, said.
With the implementation of the SSA program, SPI is able to track and analyze crucial data on worker safety in the plastics industry. This allows SPI to educate policy makers and the public on the plastic industry’s exemplary record of making employee safety a priority. By acknowledging the companies who go to great lengths to protect its workers, the SSA program helps companies promote their outstanding efforts to promote safety.
“We are very proud of our team at MarChem for achieving this significant industry safety gold award, now 3 years in row. This recognition is a significant testament to Accella’s culture and the team’s commitment to taking care of each other. We are grateful to SPI for emphasizing the importance of safety and recognizing the industry leaders.”
“Being recognized by a reputable association like SPI gives both our employees and clients a sense of trust,” Harris added.
